<description>Get Up in the Cool features conversations and musical collaborations with some of Old Time music's heaviest hitters, like Ken Perlman, Adam Hurt, Spencer &amp; Rains, and Jake Blount. As an interviewer, Cameron balances an effusive curiosity for the potential of traditional music with a dogged respect for its origins. Serving as audience surrogate, Cameron asks illuminating questions to Old Time's best and brightest while telling the larger story of the tradition's modern era.

<description>Welcome to Get Up in the Cool: Old Time Music with Cameron DeWhitt and Friends! Today’s friend is one of my favorite Philly fiddlers, Liana Moskowitz. Liana started the most recent incarnation of West Philly’s bi-monthly jam on the 2nd floor of the Gojjo Ethiopian Bar &amp;amp; Restaurant, and regularly plays Cajun music at Fiume, which, incidentally is also on the 2nd floor of an Ethiopian establishment in West Philly. And she’s one of the founders of the West Philly Square Dance, which is, like, blowing up, because it’s an awesome party.
Tunes we’ll play:
Georgia stomp
Beaumont Rag
Curly-Headed Woman
That’s It
Ozark Waltz
Bonus Track: Seneca Square Dance

<itunes:subtitle>Welcome to Get Up in the Cool: Old Time Music with Cameron DeWhitt and Friends! This week’s friend is fiddler Chris Dalnodar, and he brought with him a very serious topic: people should learn to play rags at old time jams and not be afraid of flat keys. And, you guys, I think he makes a pretty compelling case. </itunes:subtitle>
